What is the Barn, where is it, and does it have that sticky horse smell?
The Barn is our Student Building! In it we have pool tables, air hockey, foosball, couches, wii, xbox, a crazy loud sound system, video projectors we like to watch movies and play video games on, and a snack bar stocked with all the candy and caffeinated beverages you’d ever want! It’s where we have fun and also worship God.
It is located toward the back of the church property past the church offices on the gravel road. It is a big white building that is visible from the main road and you can't miss it!
We thought it was a barn before the church bought the building and property it was on, mostly because there were horses on the land. So we named it the Barn, however once we got inside it we realized the guy who owned didn’t store horses in it, but instead built race cars, had a recording studio, and a giant gun collection of guns in it, which makes the building all the more awesome! So no, there is no funky horse smell, if you do smell something look around, chances are there’s a middle school boy around you.

Will coming to The Cove make me look like a model?
Definitely—if you already are one. Either way, you’ll have a ton of fun, build some amazing relationships with people who actually care about you, and learn some relevant stuff. If you’re a first timer check out The Way, our weekly gathering, we play games, worship God, learn from God’s word, and have small groups.

Will coming to The Cove make me the man?
If you’re the only man in your household, then yes. While you ponder that, you should know that The Way meets on Sunday afternoon’s from 4:00-6:00pm during the school year, and Wednesday nights 6:30-8:30 during the summer. During the school year we don’t want you to choose between eating dinner and doing your homework or coming to church. So why the summer change? We just like being crazy like that, plus it’s insanely hot in the afternoon during the summer, so we can’t have as much fun playing Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, Horseshoes, Dodgeball, Bon Fires and other great outdoor stuff.

Will coming to The Cove get me that promotion?
Sure, if you’re talking about promoting healthy spiritual habits. We take faith seriously, whether it’s though our weekly meeting called the Way, small groups, our leadership program called The Truth, missions trips, experiential prayer, scripture reading, serving in the church, or snake handling. Just joking about the snake thing, but building closeness with God is a key value for us.

Will coming to The Cove give me abs of steel?
Sure, if you do crunches after. But more importantly, we take some pretty sweet trips though out the year to exotic places like… Orlando (football tournament, and youth conferences), Tennessee (youth conferences, white water rafting, rock climbing), the beach (beachy things), springs around the state (springy things), Kentucky (middle school missions trip), West Virginia (ski trip), Dominican Republic (high school missions trip), and even to places as exotic as Jacksonville (the church is actually located in St. Johns)

Is The Cove magic?
Hardly, it’s just the result of some really good organization and hard work on the part of people who love students. Now stop reading this FAQ and check out the rest of the web site, there are tons more info about all our programming, media to look and see the stuff we do, a calendar so you know what’s coming up, and sign up for our email list, and text message updates, these are great reminders for parents and teens so parents know what we’re teaching at The Way and they can have meaningful conversations about the topics with their students, or just receive a reminder that a deposit for a trip is due. And one more thing check out Cove Space, it’s like myspace and facebook, but for The Cove, and it’s safe, no predators allowed. It’s monitored by our youth staff (who are all background checked) and it’s a great place to connect outside of the church walls.
