As house band for Houston, Texas based Ecclesia church, Robbie Seay Band has been churning out intricate alterna-worship for more than a decade—which explains why the trio’s second major label release is so audibly beyond its sophomore status. Apart from frontman Robbie Seay’s soothingly gritty vocals, the band one-up’s last project Better Days with an equally worshipful, yet more musically enchanting collection of songs.

From the mournfully beautiful organs of “Shine Your Light On Us” to the upbeat nonchalance of instrumentation in “Rise” and the simplistic, but emotionally charged “New Day,” Give Yourself Away is full of memorable melodies entangled in producer Tedd T.’s irresistible arrangements. And beyond the album’s smooth, sweet string of soundscapes, the members of Robbie Seay Band pour their experiences, life lessons and spiritual growth into their lyrics.

"This project contains a lot of the stories of our lives from the past two years," Seay says. "It is a missional record, almost a rebirth of how we're seeing our faith and how we're seeing a lot of young Christians respond to the great need around the world and at home.”

It's about a selfish Quarter-back, Joe Kingman, who finds out he has a daughter, Payton, and has trouble adjusting his new life with her. At first he hated the idea of taking care of her, because he thought she would be a distraction for his big football game. He has to take care of her for a month, until her aunt picks her up. Payton lies to her dad about her Aunt picking her up, and tricked Joe into thinking her mother was going to pick her up. Joe and is wife got divorced years ago, and when Joe finds out Payton lied, and that is wife died, Payton goes home with her Aunt, leaving Joe devastated. Joe has to decide what's more important to him, his daughter, or the big football game.

I really enjoyed it. It is my favorite movie, and yes, I would really recommend it. It was just an awesome movie, and the worst "bad word" in the movie was stupid, but the daughter yelled "Stupid is a mean word" every time it was said. It's really funny!
